Goal

The mission of Giving Back Matters is to create and sustain long-term affordable housing opportunities for individuals and families, including the restoration of vacant and abandoned properties. Our goal is to support consumers in housing programs by offering diverse housing opportunities, thereby stabilizing communities and empowering residents to enhance their quality of life. Additionally, we aim to foster a spirit of understanding for humanitarian needs through community involvement and service.

Bounce Back is dedicated to empowering individuals who have faced life's hard lessons to turn their experiences into strengths. Our mission is to provide the support, resources, and encouragement necessary for individuals to overcome past and current challenges, enabling them to achieve their goals and realize their full potential. Bounce Back is here to help individuals turn their experiences into opportunities for growth and success.

YOUTH SERVICES

Our Youth Services program is dedicated to fostering community involvement and personal development among young individuals. Engaging youth in community involvement, educational support, leadership development, arts and culture, and various activities benefits the entire community and instills a sense of self-worth and belonging. Our Youth Services program aims to create a supportive and enriching environment where young individuals can thrive and contribute positively to their communities.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

GBM’s Community Outreach program hosts Meet & Greet events that connect residents with local businesses. These events provide residents the chance to meet local business owners, learn about their services, and discover great deals. Business owners can highlight their enterprises, helping to familiarize potential customers with their products. Additionally, GBM aims to form alliances with local organizations to better serve the community.

WORKSHOP/SEMINARS

Our workshops and seminars cover a wide range of topics including energy assistance, job fairs, wellness checks, gardening, legal consultations, and home remodeling. These events, held in collaboration with community organizations and nonprofits, aim to enhance the quality of life for local residents.

VETERANS

We ensure that our military residents are fully aware of all the benefits and services they are entitled to. We provide comprehensive information and support to help veterans access and utilize these resources effectively.

SENIORS

Our senior program offers a variety of planned activities and outings such as plays, sightseeing, golf, and game nights, including trivia and karaoke. These activities are designed to provide entertainment, social interaction, and engagement for our senior residents.

HEALTH & WELLNESS

GBM is committed to supporting the health and wellness of our residents. We provide access to informal consultations with professionals, medical resources, and necessary medical equipment. Our goal is to offer solutions and support for those facing difficult times, ensuring that residents have the assistance they need to maintain their well-being.

EVENT PLANNING

GBM offers Event Planning services that cater to a wide range of occasions, including corporate gatherings, social events, retirements, special occasions, and more. Our majestic settings ensure that just about any occasion is made extra special, providing the perfect backdrop for memorable celebrations.

REFERRAL RESOURCES

Through our extensive network of Referral Sources, GBM provides connections to a wide variety of social services and resources for individuals and families in need, ensuring comprehensive support and assistance.

Giving Back Matters is a NJ 501c3 Nonprofit Corporation (GBM) and is a Housing and Community Development Organization. At GBM, we believe that stable, affordable housing is the cornerstone of a thriving community. Our housing programs are designed to address the diverse needs of individuals and families, providing them with safe, affordable, and supportive housing options. We are committed to restoring and revitalizing vacant and abandoned properties, transforming them into vibrant homes that contribute to the overall well-being of our community. Importantly, all our services are provided free of charge to ensure that everyone has access to these vital resources.

GBM HOUSING PROGRAMS

Pre-Purchase/Post-Purchase
Giving Back Matters (GBM) offers comprehensive support, training, and encouragement to low- and moderate-income individuals and families aspiring to become homeowners but may lack the necessary knowledge or confidence.

Prepurchase Counseling: This service equips potential buyers with the education and training needed to understand the real estate market, ensuring they are well-prepared to make informed decisions about their future home purchases.

Post-Purchase Counseling: This service provides valuable insights into both the purchase and maintenance of a home, helping new homeowners manage their property effectively.

Mortgage Closing Cost & Down Payment Assistance
Our homebuyer seminars provide comprehensive training, ensuring clients understand the real estate market and are well-prepared to make informed decisions. These seminars guide potential homebuyers through the process with expert insights and valuable resources.

Home Rehabilitation Assistance: Home Rehabilitation Assistance is GBM’s primary program for the rehabilitation and repair of homes. This program is an important tool for the community and neghborhood revitiliation. Most importantly, Home Rehabilitation Assistance makes it possible for many properties to be purchased at reduced selling prices, thus expnding homeownership opportunities. There are programs that will make in-home repairs, free of charge, where there are confirmed safety concerns.

Comprehensive Credit Counseling: GBM offers client guidance in curing current problems and preventing further financial distress by providing instructions in the wise use of credit, budgeting and family management. Through showing how a budget is set up and how it should be managed, clients become in control of their debts, and most creditors consider debt management plans a positive creditor step.

Discrimination
Fair housing laws in New Jersey protect everyone from discrimination based on various protected characteristics.

Eviction and Foreclosure
GBM offers eviction and foreclosure prevention assistance, providing financial and housing support to families and individuals who are homeless or at risk of losing their homes. We also collaborate with landlords and mortgage companies to support our clients.
